Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for bright engineers to help define and build the future of cloud computing. The AWS OpsWorks service offers a fully managed Chef Automate and Puppet Enterprise Server to our customers ranging from startups to large enterprises. As a member of the OpsWorks team you'll join other outstanding product and engineering leaders that work hard, have fun, and lead the future of cloud computing.

You recently graduated from university with a degree in computer science or have an equivalent of experience in software development. You are eager to work on challenging and complex problems within a team to improve the AWS customer experience. We are looking for engineers who want to own and drive development and engineering excellence across major components of our platform. You will have co-ownership over creating new systems and evolving existing systems including technical definition, engineering development and operations.
You'll be a part of a tight and agile team that drives new ideas and you will be able to see the impact your work has on real customers.

Notwendige Qualifikationen

  • Graduated within the last 12 months from a university (bachelor/or master), or currently enrolled at a bachelor/master program
  • We look for engineers who have experience in more than one programming language
  • Excellent working knowledge of Linux, both as an end-user and an administrator.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Wünschenswerte Qualifikationen

  • Master degree
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Familiarity with configuration management with tools such as: Chef, Puppet, Ansible, SaltStack etc.
  • Knowledge of Linux internals, such as: systems configuration, process and memory management, networking and more.
  • Knowledge in operational management activities, such as: monitoring, alarming and debugging.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies, development methodologies and tools
  • Ideally you have strong experience in any of the following languages: Ruby, Java
