We are building a new, emerging business in shipping. Amazon is looking for a scale-focused, customer-obsessed, and startup-capable Senior Program Manager to lead our international launch efforts. Our team is changing the way we interact with customers around the globe every single day and solving some of the biggest logistical challenges facing not just Amazon, but also the entire industry.
This is an opportunity to be one of the early hires leading a new business launch in Europe. The primary responsibilities include scoping and creating project plans, driving execution, and communicating to senior management on status, risks, and process/product changes. Cross-team coordination, project management and executive presentation skills are essential.
We expect this leader to dive deep into our business plans and required technology, help shape the strategic direction of our launch and ongoing business, and own the end-to-end plans to get us launched and scaling quickly. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in launching new businesses via partnerships with Product, Tech, Marketing and Operations.
This position will spend first ~3-6 months primarily based out of Seattle with travel to Europe and India and then is expected to be based out of Germany to support the launch and ongoing program management of a new Amazon Logistics program in Germany.
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (Business, Operations, etc.)
Experience in program management and/or product management
Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver products to world-wide markets.
Partnering with diverse teams in different organizations
Customer focus and professional demeanor.
Organizational skill and an operations mindset.
An ability and interest in working in a fast-paced and rapidly-changing environment.
A work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations.
Interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills.
MBA or Master's in other related fields
Experience in the shipping, transportation or logistics business
